The Aragats Foundation is committed to preserving the rich past of the Caucasus. To further this mission, we are supporting the work of Caucasus Heritage Watch, a research program involving specialists from Cornell and Purdue Universities. Their mission is to conduct satellite-based monitoring of cultural heritage sites at risk in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Aragats Foundation is also deeply concerned with acts of cultural appropriation. This blog assembles a record of concerning incidents as they occur. If you have evidence of site destruction or cultural appropriation, please share with us on Twitter @aragatsfound. This program is under development. Entries will eventually be augmented with references to scholarly publications.
