Preparing the Past for the Future
The Aragats Foundation is dedicated to supporting the conservation of archaeological sites in Armenia. We seek to encourage the establishment of needed infrastructure that supports heritage conservation, archaeological research, and education. We support efforts to enhance local capacity to utilize cutting-edge techniques in the management of cultural resources. And we work to raise awareness of the region’s unique tangible and intangible heritage through global media and education.
THE TSAGHKAHOVIT INITIATIVE
Preserve a Site, Open the Future
The Aragats Foundation developed an architectural model for preserving areas at the Bronze and Iron Age site of Tsaghkhahovit. If implemented, the site could host a wide range of visitors.
In approaching preservation, we seek to harness new materials and an open architectural vision to teach visitors about Armenia's past and the scientific process of discovery.
